When everyday parenting feels harder than it should, it helps to have someone who understands both children and the demands on parents. Chris brings the perspectives of a psychotherapist and educator to that conversation.

Looking for “what is right in children”

A child’s curiosity, humour, determination or favourite interests can tell us a great deal about how to reach them. Chris pays attention to these qualities alongside the difficulties that bring a family to therapy.

This means taking concerns seriously while keeping the whole child in view.

Space to speak openly

You can talk honestly about frustration, uncertainty and the approaches that have not worked. There is no expectation that you arrive with everything figured out.

Advice that fits your household

Your time, energy and other responsibilities matter. Together, you consider what is realistic for your family.

Your observations count

You know parts of your child’s life that a clinician cannot see in a session. That knowledge helps guide the work.

Experience across classrooms and communities

Chris has over 25 years of classroom and leadership experience working with children and teens in special education across Europe and Canada. He also played a leadership role in developing current provincial special education resources.

His extensive experience in behaviour management informs how he approaches the concerns parents bring: repeated conflict, difficult transitions, school demands and big emotional reactions. His background connects an understanding of learning and development with the realities of family life.

What to expect

Sessions focus mainly on you as a parent or caregiver, preferably with one lead parent attending. An initial child observation and a review of available assessments help inform the plan; further assessment is arranged when needed.

Any involvement of your child’s school or other providers is discussed with you first, including consent, scope and additional fees.

Talk with Chris about your family.

No ADHD diagnosis is required. Use the secure intake form to tell us what you are looking for; we will confirm suitability and availability before booking.
